Today was the first day Megan got to go to work. We rounded together on Medicine ward and then saw patients together in the clinic. I had forgotten how much fun it was to work together during our 3 years of residency. Today, I realized how much I missed those times. Many times today we just burst out in laughter at things only the 2 of us would understand. It was a lot of fun. Megan got to do an LP and practice her ultrasound skills today. She brought us a new ultrasound probe while we wait for all our money to be raised for our new probe. What a difference the new one made. She tried some pidgin getting the hand of skin hot, and traut, howeve she often threw in Spanish words, sometimes just to get me to laugh I think.
After work, we headed out to the garden for their tour. Farmer Joe got to pick some pineapple and tomatoes to share with others. Luke got a good look at the cucumbers and watermelon that are growing. After that, Luke and I went to the Myers to borrow their mouse trap to catch the mouse Joe saw today. We then enjoyed a great Mexican meal at the Kerrigans. Kevin and Leslie Kerrigan have been here for about 5 weeks now. He is a surgeon who has served in Ecuador and Kenya for a number of years and she is a nurse. They are living in the McCoys house, so it is quite convenient to have dinner with them. They plan to return in Nov-Dec 08, Lord willing to cover some of the time Jim is on furlough. Luke enjoyed playing with the McCoys big blue ball, alligator, and baskets. After dinner, the Nash family went to bed as they continue to adjust to the time difference.
