In need of teachers

The hospital has been here for over 50 years, and the majority of our staff are our PNG brothers and sisters, but we still have some missionaries serving in various roles.  Just like families in other countries, the ability to educate your children, is often a factor in someone’s decision to move, serve, work in a specific location, and this is a factor for our Missionaries too.

Our missionary families have come to serve the people and to use their gifts in medicine, administration, church development, maintenance, etc., but they can only be here if their kids are able to get the education they need.  Getting that education often starts with someone who is able and willing to help facilitate it, and that means having a teacher.  Through the years here, we have had a number of teachers come and pour into the Missionary Kids.  Most come for 1-2 years, some have stayed longer.  Each spring, we often get a little stressed, pending if we know we have a teacher for the upcoming August or not.  Without a teacher, the parents have to homeschool, which for most of our families, is not what they

So as we look at the upcoming August – we find ourselves in need of teachers for our Missionary Kids, and I wonder if you might be interested in filling that void we have.  We have 12 kids total in school, 8 in elementary and 4 in high school.  If anyone is interested, or wants to know more – please email Rachel Thompson at rthompson@apnaz.org and Dave Hane at rpc@apnaz.org.
