Ob/Gyn turned hand surgeon
Kevin is a visiting Ob/Gyn who is with us for 6 weeks. When not doing OB/GYN stuff he usually is reading on an upcoming surgery, or like today finds something useful to do. Our weekly Friday am lecture was on hand infections by Dr. Michael Stathis, a visiting surgeon. He described where to make your incision depending on the location of the infection, and told us what to be careful of. Kevin apparently paid attention as this afternoon I walked into the ER and see Kevin working on a hand. This is one of the benefits of being at a mission hospital, you get to do stuff you don't normally do. We do give him opportunities to practice what he is trained in also.
