This week one of our former hospital chaplains went home to be with the Lord. Chaplain Taime was a man who had given his life to serve the Lord. He faithfully shared God's love with many men and women in the hospital, helping many to come to the Lord during their visit with us. He started numerous churches and helped many grow in their walk with the Lord. He had retired from the hospital a few years back, but was still preaching and starting churches in his retirement.
Going to his haus cri (viewing) last week, although sad, was also a time of celebration of his service to the Lord. Hearing testimonies and stories of his life encouraged me to continue to serve the Lord and share His love with those I encounter here at Kudjip. It truly is a blessing to serve here, to be able to be a part of a person's life when they are sick and hurting, and to take the time to share the hope of Christ with them during that time. I hope that I can be more like Taime, in the days ahead, giving my life to share the Lord with the sick and hurting here.
John 12:24 - "I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds."
