I recently had a chance to go to Kumul lodge with the
Thompson family and Gina, a volunteer who loves birds. We had great weather and enjoyed the
opportunity to see a lot of birds. The
lodge specializes in being able give visitors an opportunity to see a variety
of PNG birds up close. They regularly feed them
scraps, from the food they serve their visitors, and have created a platform which
the birds seem to love to come to. I have never really been a bird watcher, and still am not an avid watcher, but it was pretty
amazing to see all the different birds and the ways God created them. Here are some pics of what we saw. We saw about 10 different birds that we identified.
