Nurses In-Service

This past Wednesday I taught an In-Service to the nurses at the hospital. Dr. Bill was suppose to talk on Altered Mental Status, but since he was going out of town he asked if I would fill in. I think, since I had told him I was a little bored since things have been slower at the hospital, he thought this would give me something to do. Praise God the talk went well and it was well attended as there were over 40 nurses present. I asked them a lot of questions so they could participate, and to keep them awake. In the US, we worry about metabolic causes, drug overdoses, stroke, and infection as some causes of AMS, here we mostly worry about malaria, meningitis, and hypoglycemia.
