Wednesday afternoon following meetings with the Community Liason Committee the hospital reopened to patients. 2 of the guys responsible for last week's attack surrendered and were placed in jail, and the leader of the tribe apologized for the actions that occurred. There will continue to be discussions and meetings with the community, but we are thankful for the progress that has occurred, the support of the communities, and for the chance to serve the patients once again. For one patient the hospital opened just in time. A young man suffered a broken tibia and fibula today after being hit by a car, but instead of having to turn him away, we were able to admit him and care for him. The chance to serve again - what a great Christmas present.
